About
Created from an idea back in 2006, we have formed to become a progressive, not-for-profit social enterprise not linked with any political party or religious group. We’ve grown through unconditional donations, fundraising events, merchandise sales, revenue from our speakers bureau and the hard work of over 200 volunteers.
Our current team includes a part-time Executive Director and part-time Business Development Director, 32 volunteers, 24 professional speakers and a six-person Board of Governors. We operate out of Sydney, with team members dispersed around the country.
Over the coming year, we plan to formally launch:
- An online toolbox for Australian social innovation
- An online incubator for social innovation (including a national fund to support promising projects)
And, to ensure our financial sustainability, two profit-for-purpose initiatives:
- A professional speakers’ bureau for young social innovators
- A social innovation consultancy
